2019 WA Regional Tourism Conference - Pre/Post Conference Touring

Tour Packages

Tour Package 1 (Half Day)
Available Sunday, September 15 and Thursday, September 19. 7.30am - 12.30pm. 

A morning exploring the unique Burrup Peninsula and the Islands of the Dampier Archipelago. The Murujuga National Park features up to a million amazing aboriginal rock petroglyph carvings that should soon be world heritage nominated. Let the traditional custodians take you on a 1.5-hour cultural experience at Ngajarli (Deep Gorge) before joining Brad from Discovery Cruising for a 2-hour cruise around some of the spectacular islands of the Dampier Archipelago. Enjoy some time swimming or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters before returning to Karratha.

  • Pick up from accommodation at 7.30am
  • Transfer by bus to the Burrup Peninsula
  • Experience Murujuga Rock Art & Cultural Tour (1.5 hours)
  • Discovery Cruising boat trip to the Dampier Archipelago Islands for swimming and snorkelling (2 hours)
  • Return to Karratha 12.30pm

Tour Package 2 (Full Day)
Available Sunday, September 15 and Thursday, September 19. 7.30am - 5.15pm.

Enjoy some time swimming or snorkelling in the crystal-clear waters before returning to Karratha. Enjoy lunch at one of the many cafes in Karratha (at own expense).

This afternoon we will pick you up from the Red Earth Arts Precinct for your afternoon experience. We head north to Cape Lambert and meet our local tour guide for a 1.5-hour tour of the Rio Tinto port industrial facility that loads a continuous stream of bulk carriers destined for export. Next, we head to Point Samson to experience some of the new water sports activities now available at The Cove Holiday Village. Take to the water on a kayak or stand-up paddleboard, try your hand at fishing from a tinny, or take a bike for a spin. There is also snorkelling gear available to explore the coral gardens of Honeymoon Cove. After all that activity we will return you to Karratha approximately 5.15pm.

  • Enjoy 1.5-hour water sports activities; choose from hiring a boat to go fishing, SUP boarding, swimming, cycling, snorkelling or kayaking in the calm waters of Honeymoon Cove
  • Return to Karratha at 5.15pm

1 Day Barrimirndi Day Tour Millstream/Chichester National Park with Ngurrangga Tours
Available Thursday, September 19. 

Spend the day exploring the Millstream-Chichester National Park with Clinton Walker, award winning Aboriginal tour guide, and learn the traditional stories about how the Warlu (Serpent) created Millstream during a time known as Ngurra-nyunjunggamu (when the world was soft).
