The State Government’s next wave of international marketing boost funding targeting European travellers will likely result in greater visitation to regional parts of WA, creating jobs in local communities.
Tourism Council WA has welcomed the announcement today that the next stage of the $12 million international marketing boost will target travellers from the United Kingdom, Germany and Switzerland.
“Visitors from these countries traditionally spend a lot of time exploring Western Australia when they visit,” Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said.
“This next tranche of advertising targeting travellers from Europe will drive tourism to areas like Broome and the Kimberley, and Kalbarri and the Coral Coast.
“And while these visitors enjoy regional WA, they will be creating jobs for locals.”
Mr Hall said the State Government’s commitment to the additional $12 million for international marketing was paying off with new tourism jobs being created across WA.
“We are seeing a real reversal of fortunes in the international market for Western Australia, with the return of international visitors a direct result of the injection of additional marketing funding,” Mr Hall said.
