Over 800 guests gathered last night in Hobart to celebrate the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, where the Western Australia tourism industry was represented by a number of outstanding tourism operators.
Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall said “it was fantastic to see the extraordinary experiences that the Western Australian tourism industry has to offer on a national level.”
The evening saw Rottnest Island bring home a Gold Medal in the Tourism Marketing category for their vibrant ‘I love Rotto’ campaign that which reconnected the public of WA to its favourite holiday island.
A Silver Medal in the Visitor & Information Services category was awarded to The Augusta Margaret River Tourism Association, which assist visitors in the planning their memorable experiences while in the region.
Silver Medals were also awarded to Eco Beach Broome in the Unique Accommodation category and the Berkeley River Lodge in the New Tourism Development category. Both offering fantastic and world-class accommodation along the pristine Kimberley coast.
Out of Sight Tours, located in Denmark, also took home a Bronze Medal in the Ecotourism category for their tours along the Great South West Edge.
