Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM) 2026

Details of the AGM 2026 of Tourism Council WA are as follows:

Time:       4.45pm - 5.15pm (registrations from 4.30pm) followed by Network@Night function

The AGM agenda will include the annual CEO Report, Financial Report and the Declaration of Elected Directors for 2026. Should a financial Ordinary Member wish to have a motion considered at the AGM, please email the proposed motion to AGM@tourismcouncilwa.com.au by 17:00 hrs (WST) Tuesday 22 September 2026. The final agenda and audited financial statements will be distributed to Members in advance of the AGM. 

 

Election of Directors

Nominations are invited to fill three (3) Elected Director vacancies on the Tourism Council WA Board of Directors.  Nominations are now open and will close at 17:00 hrs (WST) Monday 14 September 2026.

Should more than three (3) eligible nominations be received, a ballot will be necessary. The vote will be conducted

 by electronic ballot which will open Wednesday 30 September 2026 and close at 17:00 hrs WST Wednesday 7 October 2026. The Returning Officer for the election is Mr Mike Michael, Managing Director of Cirrena IVS Independent Voting Solutions. 

 

Candidate Requirements

Consistent with the TCWA Constitution, candidate eligibility requirements have been introduced for Elected Directors positions. It is the responsibility of candidates to meet the eligibility requirements and to comply with the Constitution and the relevant TCWA policies.

All requirements, policies and forms are detailed on the Directors Elections 2026 webpage. Candidates must submit their Nomination Forms to the Returning Officer via elections@tourismcouncilwa.com.au no later than 17:00 hrs (WST) Tuesday 22 September 2026.

Please ensure that the candidate is nominated by two separate Ordinary Member businesses. 

 

Electronic Ballot

Should a ballot be necessary, the Directors Election 2026 will be conducted by electronic means for a more accessible, timely and cost effective ballot.

The electronic ballot will be distributed via the email address of the primary contact of the Ordinary Member in the Tourism Council WA membership database. If you wish to check the details and email address of the primary contact please call Tourism Council WA on 9416 0700.

Tourism Council WA has engaged Cirrena IVS Independent Voting Solutions to conduct the electronic ballot. 

 

Eligibility to Vote in Directors Election

Ordinary Members must have paid all outstanding membership fees to be eligible to vote. Only financial Ordinary Members of Tourism Council WA can vote in the Directors Election. This includes Industry Leaders, Tourism Alliance, and Tourism Business Members.

The primary contact of the Ordinary Member in the Tourism Council WA membership database will receive the ballot. Multiple Ordinary Members may authorise the same primary contact for their businesses.

Please note that an individual cannot be an Ordinary Member of Tourism Council WA.  Only businesses (including sole traders, partnerships and companies), incorporated associations, government bodies and authorities, and other organisations (not being individuals) operating in or involved in the tourism industry shall qualify as Ordinary Members. Individuals, students and other Associate Members are not eligible to vote.
