Understanding the Chinese Visitor (Perth)

This workshop is suited to tourism operators looking to attract and service Chinese visitors.

China is Western Australia's fourth largest international market by visitor numbers — and our top market by spend. In the year ending September 2025, WA welcomed 71,000 Chinese visitors who contributed $488 million to the state's economy, up from $315 million the previous year.

This practical workshop will help your team confidently welcome and serve Chinese visitors. You'll gain insight into:

  • Chinese culture, history, traditions and social etiquette
  • Meeting, greeting and communication styles
  • What Chinese visitors expect from accommodation, food and beverage, and tourism experiences
  • Effective language and communication strategies to enhance visitor satisfaction.
