Join us for the inaugural Visitor Centre Training Academy – a professional development opportunity designed specifically for Visitor Centre Managers, Team Leaders, and key team members across Western Australia. This event is presented by Tourism Council WA with the support of Tourism WA. 

As frontline ambassadors for your regions, visitor centre professionals play a pivotal role in shaping visitor experiences and driving local tourism outcomes. This academy is your chance to enhance your capabilities, connect with peers, and strengthen your centre's impact on regional tourism success.

Day 1 - Tuesday, October 21, 8.30am - 4.00pm

Plenary Sessions

  • Tourism AI Essentials for Visitor Centres - Improve your understanding of AI and its practical applications for operations, customer service, and marketing
  • Retail & Merchandising - Maximise revenue through strategic product selection, visual merchandising, and effective retail management

Then Choose Your Stream
Managers & Team Leaders Stream:

  • Leading & Managing Teams - Master essential leadership skills for managing mixed paid and volunteer teams in regional settings

Team Members:

  • Customer Service & Sales Techniques - Perfect your visitor engagement skills and master destination upselling strategies

Sessions followed by Tourism Council WA AGM and Network@Night - registrations now open. 

 

Day 2 - Wednesday, October 22, 8.30am - 12.00pm

Plenary Session 

  • Social Media Marketing - Harness Facebook, Instagram & TikTok to promote your region and generate revenue

Accommodation Support for Regional Visitor Centres

Tourism Council WA, with support from Tourism WA, will provide up to two nights' complimentary accommodation for eligible regional Visitor Centre attendees. This support covers up to two attendees per centre and will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis.

Following registration, eligible attendees will be contacted directly to arrange and confirm their accommodation booking.
