When providing complimentary alcohol, you do not have to:

  • Impose the previous limit of 5 standard drinks in 24 hours on individuals
  • Invest time and resources in applying for a liquor licence

You can provide complimentary alcohol:

  • On your own land/premises or on someone else’s land with permission
  • In National Parks with granted permission for all Quality Tourism Accredited Businesses
  • In lands managed by the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (excluding Perth Zoo) with granted permission
  • On State/Local Government land (e.g., beaches) with permission

Note: You cannot provide alcohol at licensed premises such as wineries or hotels, to guests on public roads, or in declared liquor-restricted areas.

Ensure you avoid the following practices when providing complimentary alcohol:

  • Supplying liquor to anyone who is drunk or under the age of 18
  • Selling individual serves of alcohol or prepacked alcohol to guests
  • Selling your services at different prices depending on whether alcohol is included
  • Offering a “booze cruise” or any experience primarily focused on alcohol consumption
  • Encouraging rapid consumption of alcohol such as shots, test tubes, laybacks, or drinking games
  • Engaging in practices that could damage customers or the integrity of the tourism industry
