It started with a hashtag. Tired of being unfairly labelled as a dull city in a sleepy state by our east coast cousins (who, really, don't know a thing about us), we decided it was high-time to take back control of the narrative for the people who lived here.
Launching in 2014, Perth is OK! delivered a platform to discover and share all the good parts of their city.
Quickly, it outgrew the boundaries of the capital as residents of Broome, Esperance and everywhere in between sent through moments of WA greatness. As it turned out, our little tongue-in-cheek phrase had sparked a state-wide movement. WA is not the sleepy place it once was, it's something better.
Change will always be a constant but, if we continue to work together, harnessing all the local good of WA, our home will always be a place we're proud of.
