Purpose
Generally new employees are hired with a three-month probation period, which allows for both parties to see if the job is a good fit for the new employee. Sometimes depending on the situation it may be useful to meet within the first six weeks to see how the new employee is settling in and whether any training, mentoring or other support is required. It is a good idea to make a written record of the feedback and agreed action (if any).
