Purpose
Longer licences, extended fee waivers and new branding and marketing for licenced tour operators are key features of a new partnership arrangement between Tourism Council WA and the Department of Biodiversity Conservation and Attractions.
The State Government will extend licences from a maximum of 10 years to 20 years for tourism operators.
To qualify for a licence of 1 year or more, tourism operators will need to be Sustainable Tourism Accredited, publish an Accessible Information Guide and assess their emissions.
DBCA and Tourism Council WA jointly presented the webinar, which covered:
- Extended licences to 10 or 20 years
- No upfront annual licence fees for up to 20 years
- Sustainability, accessible information guide and emissions assessment standards for all licence holders
- Joint brand and promotion of licenced tour operators
- New joint Parks Sustainable Tourism Brand and promotion of licenced operators
This webinar was recorded on June 5, 2025.
