The 154-year old heritage listed Busselton Jetty is one of WA’s most popular tourist attractions welcoming over 500,000 visitors annually. Extending 1.8 kilometres over the clear waters of Geographe Bay, it is the longest tourist jetty in the Southern Hemisphere. It is home to the iconic boat shed style Interpretive Centre, interactive Museum, solar powered electric Jetty Train and is one of only six Underwater Observatories in the world. Visitors are able to descend 8 metres underwater to view the natural wonders that lie beneath the Jetty where its piles create Australia’s greatest artificial reef.

Field of Light: Avenue of Honour was a large-scale outdoor light installation by British artist Bruce Munro. Featuring 16,000 lights planted by local volunteers under Albany’s Avenue of Honour memorial trees, the installation paid homage to the thousands of Anzacs who, over a century ago, departed Albany for the WWI battlefields. Each sunset until 10pm, over seven months, people walked the Avenue while around them the lights glowed green and gold. The event attracted around 187,000 visitors to the port city. This incredible event was a collaboration by FORM and the City of Albany.

A descendant of the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi people, the traditional landowners of the coastal and inland areas of the West Pilbara region, Clinton Walker launched Ngurrangga Tours in 2013. Clinton has spent his life learning from his Elders about the traditional ways of his people, including speaking the Ngarluma and Yindjibarndi languages. Clinton saw the beauty of the Pilbara being overlooked by tourists and wanted to share his culture by offering locals and tourists a unique, hands-on insight into the rich Aboriginal history of the area. The judges admired his biggest achievement in the last 12 months which was to be able to expand his business and employ family members so they could share his passion.
