The GWN7 Top Tourism Town Awards recognise and reward towns in Western Australia that demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to their destination.
Winners in the 2022 GWN7 Top Tourism Town Awards have now been announced.
There are three categories:
GWN7 TOP TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population over 5,000 people.
GWN7 SMALL TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population between 1,500 and 5,000 people.
GWN7 TINY TOURISM TOWN AWARD - Population below 1,500 people.
Important Dates
- Nominations open - Thursday, 3 February 2022
- Nominations close - Thursday, 24 March 2022
- Submissions due - Thursday, 14 April 2022
- Consumer voting period - Tuesday, 3 May 2022 - Tuesday, 24 May 2022
- Winners announced - Wednesday, 22 June 2022
Important Information
- Nominations are open to any city or town, specifically relating to geographical towns and population centres, not Local Government Areas.
- The nomination can be made by a Golden i Visitor Information Centre or a Local Council which is a member of Tourism Council WA.
- The entry fee is $190.00 per entry/town.
Prizes
GWN7 Top Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $20,000 advertising prize package provided by GWN7
- GWN7 on-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
GWN7 Small Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $10,000 advertising prize package provided by GWN7
- GWN7 on-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
GWN7 Tiny Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $5,000 advertising prize package provided by GWN7
- GWN7 on-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
The Silver and Bronze winners in each category will receive a framed certificate.
Entry Requirements
- Editorial article of up to 800 words on why visitors should come to your town or city and what they could experience during their visit.
- A 30 second to 2 minute video which highlights the key attractions and experiences in the nominated town or city.
- An itinerary for a defined target market.
How to Nominate
- For Accredited Visitor Centres, visit the Quality Tourism Framework and log into your existing account. If you do not have an account, please send us an email.
- Click 'click here to make a Top Town Award nomination'
- Click on the red 'Nominate Now' button on the right of screen
- Select which business to nominate, your State and Region from the drop down options. Click Next button when all questions have been answered.
- Select which category you would like to enter and click Next.
- Fill out the details for the nominated town and click Next.
- Review the details, click Pay Now and follow the prompts.
