2024 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards

Nominations for the 2024 program are closed.

The 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards recognise and reward towns in Western Australia that demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to their destination.

Categories

There are three categories:

7NEWS TOP TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population over 5,000 people.
7NEWS SMALL TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population between 1,500 and 5,000 people.
7NEWS TINY TOURISM TOWN AWARD - Population below 1,500 people.

  4. Receive valuable and in-depth feedback on your town’s award submission from experienced industry leaders.
     
  5. Represent WA on the National stage in Australia’s Top Tourism Town Awards.

Important Dates

  • Nominations open - Thursday, 30 November 2023
  • Nominations close - Thursday, 22 February 2024
  • Submissions due - Tuesday, 26 March 2024
  • Consumer voting period - 30 April 2024 - 22 May 2024
  • Winners announced - Tuesday, 11 June 2024

Important Information

  • Nominations are open to any city or town, specifically relating to geographical towns and population centres, not Local Government Areas.
  • The nomination can be made by a Golden i (accredited) Visitor Information Centre or a Local Council.
  • A Visitor Centre may nominate multiple towns within its catchment should a nearby town not have a traditional Visitor Centre.
  • Census data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics should be used to determine the most suitable category for entry.
  • The entry fee for Tourism Council WA members is $250 plus GST per entry/town.

Prizes

7NEWS Top Tourism Town Award winner will receive:

  • $20,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
  • On-air acknowledgement
  • Electronic logo
  • Framed certificate
  • The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards

7NEWS Small Tourism Town Award winner will receive:

  • $10,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
  • On-air acknowledgement
  • Electronic logo
  • Framed certificate
  • The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards

7NEWS Tiny Tourism Town Award winner will receive:

  • $5,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
  • On-air acknowledgement
  • Electronic logo
  • Framed certificate
  • The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards

The Silver and Bronze winners in each category will receive a framed certificate.


How to Nominate

  • Visit the Quality Tourism Framework and log into your existing account. If you do not have an account, please send us an email.
  • Click 'click here to make a Top Town Award nomination'
  • Click on the red 'Nominate Now' button on the right of screen
  • Select which business to nominate, your State and Region from the drop down options. Click Next button when all questions have been answered. If your Visitor Centre of Local Government is a TCWA/VCWA member, select the Member button to ensure you receive the discounted nomination rate.
  • Select which category you would like to enter and click Next. 
  • Fill out the details for the nominated town and click Next. 
  • Review the details, click Pay Now and follow the prompts. 
  • Once your nomination has been completed, TCWA will contact you with further information to complete your submission.
