The 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards recognise and reward towns in Western Australia that demonstrate a strong commitment to encouraging tourism and increasing visitation to their destination.
Categories
There are three categories:
7NEWS TOP TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population over 5,000 people.
7NEWS SMALL TOURISM TOWN AWARD – Population between 1,500 and 5,000 people.
7NEWS TINY TOURISM TOWN AWARD - Population below 1,500 people.

- Nominations open - Wednesday, 11 December 2024
- Nominations close - Thursday, 20 February 2025
- Submissions due - Tuesday, 11 March 2025
- Consumer voting period - Thursday, 3 April 2025 - Thursday, 1 May 2025
- Winners announced - Wednesday, 28 May 2025
Important Information
- Nominations are open to any city or town, specifically relating to geographical towns and population centres, not Local Government Areas.
- The nomination can be made by a Golden i (accredited) Visitor Information Centre or a Local Council.
- A Visitor Centre may nominate multiple towns within its catchment should a nearby town not have a traditional Visitor Centre.
- Census data from the Australian Bureau of Statistics should be used to determine the most suitable category for entry.
- The entry fee for Tourism Council WA members is $250 plus GST per entry/town.

Prizes
7NEWS Top Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $20,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
- A professionally produced custom audio guide of the winning town featuring two local interviews provided by Storytowns and hosted on the Storytowns app for one year.
- On-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
- The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards
7NEWS Small Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $10,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
- A professionally produced custom audio guide of the winning town featuring two local interviews provided by Storytowns and hosted on the Storytowns app for one year.
- On-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
- The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards
7NEWS Tiny Tourism Town Award winner will receive:
- $5,000 advertising prize package provided by Seven West Media (WA)
- A professionally produced custom audio guide of the winning town featuring two local interviews provided by Storytowns and hosted on the Storytowns app for one year.
- On-air acknowledgement
- Electronic logo
- Framed certificate
- The winner will become a finalist in the Australian Top Tourism Town Awards
The Silver and Bronze winners in each category will receive a framed certificate.
How to Nominate
- For Accredited Visitor Centres or Local Governments, visit the Quality Tourism Framework and log into your existing account. If you do not have an account, please send us an email.
- Once logged in, click "Nominate" in the top right corner.
- Fill out your details and follow the prompts.
- Review the details, click Pay Now and follow the prompts. Payment can be made via credit card at the time of nomination, or an invoice can be issued for later payment.
- Once your nomination has been completed, TCWA will contact you with further information to complete your submission.
